Here's a little view of on and around my front porch...I want to take a view off into the fields in the early morning sometime. My fave wicker chair is so comfy!

My front porch

I love my front porch. If I could, I would go out there every morning, with my big red mug of coffee and stare out across the fields. The pink morning comes in velvety and lush and my mind just relaxes. The grass is still wet with dew as I reflect on whatever life has brought me that week. There's nothing like it. I love Mexico and all it's sights and sounds...and I feel someday we'll live there. I love every vacation we've been on to beaches and attractions--they've all had beautiful vistas. Nothing can compare, though, for me, than my front porch. My bare feet tucked under our old wicker chairs, cushions that seriously need to be replaced padding my behind. Our cat curled up on the chair beside me and a good book ready to be savored. I see my pink flowers spilling over the sides of two big metal tubs, lush already for June. This is my favorite time of summer. Nothing is overgrown and weedy, all is verdant and glistening with the drapery of summer. This is the time...

Well, I'm back.....I've been off in the real world having garage sales, working, and whatnot. Blogging hasn't been my number one priority. Today is my first day being alone in a while. I guess that's why I haven't posted.....I normally do that when I'm alone! Right now I feel as if things are on auto-pilot.....hence the title of this post. Things have been so up in the air with finances, the future, etc. , and right now we're just cruising along at one altitude. George's work has picked up so things are going a little smoother there. I've been in such turmoil though....what does my life hold? Where are we supposed to be in this world? I haven't even been able to concentrate enough to read a book, and for me, that means my world is upside down! So, it's kind of nice to have things on an even (although wobbly) keel. I got an anniversary card from Mary Hummel the other day. The cover said this, "For I know the plans I have for you," sa...

Right now...this is what I need. I need God's hands to pluck me from this earth...dust me off...and give me his version of what he wants me to do. I thought that I'd been listening for it...his will for us. Somehow my ears have become deaf and I need a sharp slap to the head to unplug them. My mind is spinning and I can't focus. I guess that's because I haven't been focusing on Him. I've only been focusing on what is wrong with our lives. I've been too busy worrying where the money will come from next to really sit down and listen for His voice. I'm sorry, Lord. Since last fall especially, nothing has gone right financially. We struggle day to day just to get food on the table. Job opportunities come, and then they go. Then we sit on the couch and just stare at each other or into space wondering what is happening with our lives. I think we're being pushed.....pushed out of our little space in the world that has become too comfortable. G...

11 yr. olds & TP'ing

Image
Well, I survived my weekend. Hunter had a birthday sleepover on Friday night with 13 boys invited! People tell me I'm crazy...but how many times after your kids leave home will you say to yourself, "I wish I would've let them invite more people over, and worry less about how my house looks?" I can honestly say I've always been the crazy mom and let them have a ton of people over for sleepovers. Hunter begged me to take him tp'ing for the first time...and of course I caved. I've taken Belle and her friends for so long that I can't remember when it started. Then I started taking Selena and her friends.....and how could I say no when it came Hunter's turn to do it? So there they were, bunches of boys getting dressed in black & camouflage and looking at me with pleading eyes. I caved. So out we went around 12:30 am driving around the countryside looking for the perfect place to hit. When I've taken the girls, there were always some of...
