spring break

We're going to Florida! We finally found out over the weekend that we could get this motel room for a fabulous price. We're leaving Friday March 21 and coming back March 30. I feel like I can get excited now because we didn't know for sure if we could get this room---but now I'm feeling it. It's been two years since we've been on a vacation, and that was to visit family in Mexico which doesn't always feel like a vacation. George and I were just talking this morning that we can't wait to just lay on the beach. We definitely don't like doing alot of other stuff---I.E. sightseeing or checking out shops. Unless we are just meandering around at night after we eat and see something cool to stop and see. We're going to be just north of Sarasota in Bradenton. We'll probably drive down to go to the beach at Siesta Key because that's where we love to be..... We don't care where we stay, we're just glad to be going to the beach

Reminiscing...

I'm at work this Sunday evening, just listening to the Malvern basketball game in Canton. It's making me reminisce about basketball..... ---tomorrow we're heading down to Columbus to see the Hiland girls in the state championship. ---the kids want to eat somewhere nice after the game.....hmmm.....where can we eat--for 4--- on $29 that's nice? :) we'll see..... I'll have to dig out those Steak-n-Shake coupons! ---I'm missing all those bandanas...red & black beads...and face paint we lost in the fire! ---I love to see my kids all dressed up for tourney games....I grew up going to every basketball game and they're just like I was. ---I love George even though he hates going to basketball games... :) ---I learned early in my marriage that I won't melt if I don't go to all the games..... ---Hiland pride never dies....even when you realize there's more to life than basketball! :) ---I remember long rides to Athens for regionals..

BLIZZARD

Image
My blizzard has come....and I am so loving it! I had to work for a little while this morning, so I headed out at 5:45 am on roads that I had never seen before. It was like driving in the arctic. The scenery was so unreal, and the snow hit your face unlike regular snow. It was a driving blinding snow. We closed down the motel at 10 a.m., and I got to come home early. Here's a few pictures from outside my house. I took a video up by the road until a snow plow came and almost took me out! lol. I'll try to post that. I wish you could see the driving snow.....I haven't seen snow blow so hard sideways since the blizzard of '78. So cool. The snow in some place came over my knee, which has to be over two feet deep! :) Hunter and his friend Drew messed up the perfectly pristine picnic table with their tracks!

Another big storms' a coming!

Looks like we're in for upwards of a foot of snow this weekend! I know people are so sick of it, but I just can't seem to get enough of it. The only bad thing about it is that the Hiland girls are playing in the state championship game on Saturday at 2 in Columbus, and the girls have tickets. I was going to buy tickets this morning for myself, but now I'm not so sure. Do I really want to risk driving for two hours in blinding snow? Are we that crazy? Belle is like, it's okay mom, we'll just get a ride with someone. I just looked at her and said are you nuts? The only way you're going is if I'm driving. It's a crazy predicament. It's been an anxious week personally. Things can be surprising to you----just when you think you know things, they can change or reveal some new facet of life. It's surprising and I have to say ended rather nicely. I know it sounds cryptic, but let me just say this---don't take what you have for granted...
